Press Release: Big Fish Partners with Girls Who Code

SEATTLE —November 2, 2022—Big Fish Games, a leader in casual games, today launched a new partnership with Girls Who Code, whose mission is to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. The partnership led by the Big Fish Women in Games Employee Impact Group includes sponsorship of GWC Clubs, which are free and open to girls in grades 3 through 12.

GWC Clubs offer students a flexible coding curriculum to learn to use coding to help their community through completion of an impact project while also building a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models to help solidify a feeling of belonging in the CS field. Through this partnership, Big Fish will offer employee volunteering opportunities for GWC Clubs as well as hiring opportunities for Girls Who Code alumni.

“At Big Fish, we believe games are for everyone - and the key to making games for everyone is purposely diversifying the pool of game makers,” said Rachel DiPaola, Senior Director of Transformation and President Chair of Women in Games at Big Fish. “Big Fish is committed to the Girls Who Code cause of closing the gender gap in computer science and our partnership is just the beginning of supporting the next generation of incredible game makers.”
